Do you mean the dry mustard?
If that is what you mean it is probably Coleman’s Dry Mustard. Comes in a yellow box. Add a bit of water to the mustard powder to make a paste as thick or thin as you like.
The mustard is great in mac-n-cheese, coleslaw, all sorts of things.
This is the only “paste” I can think of that I have seen at a Chinese restaurant.
Curry isn’t really used in Chinese cooking. To get a nice not too spicy curry check for some Indian supermarkets, Malaysian can also do.
There you find a nice range of curry powders with nice flavors, but not too spicy.
For spicy you can try Thai curry paste, it comes in green, red and yellow.
I presume your nearest Asian supermarket has all of those.
