Paneer bhurji recipe
Recipe ingredients
2 blocks paneer, crumbled coarsely
2 finely chopped medium onions
1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 teaspoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon chopped green chillies
1 chopped tomato
4 to 5 cashewnuts, cut into small bits
1 green bell pepper cut into thin strips
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons red chilli powder
Salt to taste
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter) for frying
How to make paneer bhurji
Heat ghee in a heavy saucepan.
Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for one minute.
Add the cashewnuts, onions, green chillies and bell pepper and stir fry till the onions turn color.
Add the tomatoes and keep frying till the tomatoes turn mushy.
Add all the dry powders and fry for one minute.
Add the crumbled paneer, salt and the lemon juice.
Mix well, heat through and eat hot with naan or chapathi.
