Is there a difference between curry powder and Jamaican curry powder?
My friend said there was. I have both and the only thing I notice different is the smell. Curry powder is stronger than Jamaican curry powder. Will this affect the chicken in any way?

duh! of couses theres a difference! jamaican curry powder is from jamaica mon!
no it wont. But stick wit the Jamaican curry next time. its all about taste. Jus season the meat real good. And next time gimme a call.
I am a former chef from Canada, and I worked at a resort in Montego Bay Jamaica back in the 80′s and still do alot of Jamaican food here in Toronto Canada, and the biggest difference is Jamaican curry powder has more allspice, turmeric, a bit of mustard powder, in Jamaica they use more bay leaves and it is a thinner not thick curry, also they may use coconut milk, but so do the East Indian people, Indian curry has more cumin, coriander, garam masala and is spicier in the beginning, Jamaican curry can be hot I buy one pre-made spicy, but they rely on the scotch bonnet pepper for the heat, Indian curry use fresh chili’s to.
I had a curry called “Phall” in the UK it is made with 12 different dried and fresh chili’s, meat wise both use chicken, goat, lamb/mutton, fish some beef and a bit of seafood.
