How do you reduce the heat of a curry when you have made it too hot?

I made a chicken curry with some curry powder a friend had provided and the result was too hot for us. I want to know whether there is a way to take out the heat from the dish(there were letftovers), I have heard that adding potato and recooking will work.

Yoghurt or/and cream.

let it cool down. dont make it too hot in the first place

drink some water after every bite

Add some oil. and then garlic and onion. After you sautee that for a little bit put the cooked chicken in there and then add some water if this is indian style curry. Add coconut milk if it’s thai style. Adding some potato will help and it taste good too if it’s indian style curry. Also add some cilantro in it.

Don’t listen to ‘purple shoes’ or whoever, DON’T drink water, drink milk or a dairy based drink e.g. Milky Tea. Alternatively you can add yoghurt or cream (double or single will work). Adding starchy ingredients like potatos may help.

Add potatoes & recook, then remove potatoes & discard.
Or eat with yoghurt.

Take some milk or yogurt. Bring the curry to biol add little milk at a time and check the taste. Don’t add too much milk. It will ruin the flavor.

Indian spices such as Garam Masala, Curry powder cool down if you add dairy product to the gravy. Another Chef secret, Add one tablespoon of sugar/Honey in it.

Curry powder is made with 20 Indian spices. It is very strong. Be careful next time.
