How do I make my curry hotter (more spicy)?

I’ve made curry several times, but can’t seem to get the heat up as I prefer spicy curry that burns the mouth. I make the sauce out of paste, coconut milk, and fish sauce per recipes. What am I missing to add the heat I desire?

so obvious…..chilli man!!! small red chillies are the hottest, that’s what i always add

Use Jamaican curry and add some Scotch Bonnet Sauce or Scotch Bonnet pepper if you can find it in your area. Some brands of great hot curry are Grace, Jamaican choice, Walkerswood. That’s the way my Jamaican people do it!!

Add chilli powder.

thai chilies
cayenne pepper

thai restaurants usually have this red spice powder on the table. wowwee that’s hot.

I buy Thai Sweet Chili Sauce in a bottle at walmarts. It is hot.. It is so good on lots of things. The first time I made it too hot, but I am pretty good now at guessing how much in what dishes. The brand is Aroma Chef.

firstly if you want the more intense chili flavour don’t add the coconut milk unless you are also after the creamy texture. some spicy flavours that are very nice with curry include:
whole mustard seeds
dried curry powder
dried mustard powder
dried Chili powder
saffron
Cayenne pepper (but be sure to get the hot type not SWEET)
chrissy :)

Hot Sauce
CHILI Sauce
Red CHILI powder
Crushed CHILI flakes
GReen or red chill lies
