How can I stop a curry smell?
I’m living with Indians and everything I own stinks of curry. When I leave the apartment, I stink of curry. Febreeze doesn’t help. What can I do to combat this odor?

Get a couple of good air purifiers to cut down on the curry scent in the apartment (put a machine in your room so your clothing can stay neutral). Keep yourself clean too. Make sure the kitchen has a VERY good exhaust and keep the kitchen swabbed down (including walls, floors, etc.). I personally love the smell of curry (makes my mouth water).
Boil about three cups of white vinegar (may add some water) on stove and let steam disperse into the air. Don’t stand too close. Wipe down everything (cabinets, stove, countertops, floor) with white vinegar. If you feel it’s in the carpet, sprinkle baking soda on carpet, let sit at least 20 minutes or overnight, then vacuum. You must vacuum to get the smell out of carpet.
ur house will smell of vinegar but it will get rid of the curry smell.vinegar smell will eventually go.hope this helps.
its hard to get it to go away. try a very strong deodorizer, and try to air out your apartament often.
There is an age old trick used by bakeries in United States. They would add Vanilla extract to the paint. They paint the front counter area two weeks before Thanksgiving. It was to make visiting patrons to buy baked goods. And it worked.
I suggest buy a few vanilla beans. After your friends are done cooking. Let a pot of plain water come to a boil with vanilla beans. The vanilla flavor will over-power the curry odor.
I have another idea, buy a small vaporizer, normally used when you have a cold. Instead of putting Vick’s vaporub, add a Tablespoon of Vanilla extract. During winter you will be adding humidity and get rid of Curry odor.
You may also try to light Vanilla, and Raspberry candles.
If nothing works, move out and find another apartment. But don’t spoil your friendship with the Indians, visit them for a curry. It’s only the cooking that causes Curry odor, eating curry does not cause odor, specially if it is free cooked by your friends who made you move out. They owe it to you.
Burn a lot of candles – any candles. Open flames burn odors. That will help the odor in the air but as long as there is so much around, there will little you can do to combat it.
Have you ever thought of moving out if you can’t stand that smell?
Make sure not to make it offensive.
